It's been interesting to see how Japanese cinema and cultural influences inspired George Lucas when he made Star Wars, and with Volume 1 of Visions the effect was reversed. Star Wars ip was given to Japanese anime studios with free creative control to do what they wished, to make thier star wars story and push the boundaries in new and unreal ways that dont need to make sense in the saga we're enamoured by. To make something fresh and new but different. Volume 2 is no different, but on a new playing field with the ip given to animation studios around the world.Today we look at Visions Vol 2 and review each episode and provide our thoughts, feedback and scores - and pick our favorites of course. About
In 2015 we had an idea to create a Star Wars podcast that felt both fun, informative and different than the existing podcasts available to audiences in the Star Wars fandom. In 2019 that idea was made a reality with the launch of our first Intro (since updated) and the debut of the logo.
What's our Escape Pod theme about?
Our logo and podcast title is based on the first shot ILM ever completed in 1976 on "Star Wars". The escape pod launching from the Tantive IV. It remains an iconic shot to this day. In late 2022 we vectorized and modernized our logo that was once essentially a screenshot (with some photoshop applied) and turned it into a recognizable essence of the original but something we can call our own.
