This is my personal favorite of the original trilogy and remains to be the iconic film in which audiences around the world saw the redemption of Anakin Skywalker for the first time in 1983. Star Wars Rogue One just blew audiences away, the first Star Wars anthology film from Disney-Lucasfilm was a massive hit bringing in over $1Billion worldwide. From digitally resurrecting actors by the likes of Peter Cushing and Carrie Fischer to make CGI Tarkin and Princess Leia, it's incredible the technology, and the effort the artists at ILM put into this film. It remains one of fans favorites in the saga and my personal favorite that Disney has made yet. The saga is complete. They were the last 4 words of commercial advertising that many of us fans took to heart that this was very likely going to be the last star wars movie ever made. That obviously isn't true now looking back at the last 5 years today with 5 more live action films in the count and many more on the way... But Episode 3 was the last one that George Lucas ever made. It's my personal favorite Star Wars film, one of my favorite movies of all time, and truly a master piece. One, to even be praised by an art critic as the staple for being the greatest piece of artwork in the last 30 years. About
In 2015 we had an idea to create a Star Wars podcast that felt both fun, informative and different than the existing podcasts available to audiences in the Star Wars fandom. In 2019 that idea was made a reality with the launch of our first Intro (since updated) and the debut of the logo.
What's our Escape Pod theme about?
Our logo and podcast title is based on the first shot ILM ever completed in 1976 on "Star Wars". The escape pod launching from the Tantive IV. It remains an iconic shot to this day. In late 2022 we vectorized and modernized our logo that was once essentially a screenshot (with some photoshop applied) and turned it into a recognizable essence of the original but something we can call our own.
