The force is in all things - like between the pages of books! We join AJ in the Escape Pod chatting about Star Wars books today! Star Wars books have had a massive impact on fans over the years and have remained very important to the fandom and the franchise. It's what started the expanded universe and gave fans new stories when the films had hit a void of inactivity. They've provided inspiration for the films, the tv shows, the circle continues... Books have always played a vital part of the living fandom and we're super happy to discuss this with our very special guest and new friend Iain! He's managed to secure himself a copy of "STAR WARS: FORCE COLLECTOR" from his local bookstore in the UK. Listen to Iain give an early inside look at this novel that's available in north america in November. We also bring up some talk about MASTER & APPRENTICE, and DOOKU: JEDI LOST. We meet Diego, our co-host for watching, reviewing, and discussing Star Wars THE CLONE WARS! Diego has never seen the show before and he's going to be taking his first step into that larger world right here in the Escape Pod watching Clone Wars CHRONOLOGICALLY. In this episode we chat one on one in the escape pod all about the recent buzz from Bob Iger's new book. George Lucas's feelings on the sequel trilogy, how he was blindsided in a meeting with Kathy, J.J. Abrams and company about going forward with their ideas for what the sequels would look like having not been warned by Bob prior to the meeting. Bob writes about how he regrets not handling the situation better. We piece that together with his interview on Charlie Rose after EPISODE 7 came out and his feelings toward DISNEY there. And talk about what George's ideas for the sequel trilogies would've been, his treatments and the concept art from TFA that was based on his ideas with ties to the PREQUELS. Lucas's sequel trilogy really would have brought it round circle, we miss George and wish him all the best in his retirement, and all the best for JJ as he finishes The Rise of Skywalker in post production.

About
In 2015 we had an idea to create a Star Wars podcast that felt both fun, informative and different than the existing podcasts available to audiences in the Star Wars fandom. In 2019 that idea was made a reality with the launch of our first Intro (since updated) and the debut of the logo.
What's our Escape Pod theme about?
Our logo and podcast title is based on the first shot ILM ever completed in 1976 on "Star Wars". The escape pod launching from the Tantive IV. It remains an iconic shot to this day. In late 2022 we vectorized and modernized our logo that was once essentially a screenshot (with some photoshop applied) and turned it into a recognizable essence of the original but something we can call our own.
